Brighton – Perfect Combo of Beaching and Pitching

The charming city of Brighton in the UK is primarily a coastal town, but camping enthusiasts will be pleasantly surprised to know that it has a good number of nice campsites too. There are as many as 98 gardens and parks in the entire Brighton & Hove area, and 14,000 acres of stupendous countryside, including the natural splendor of the South Downs National Park (within a few minutes from the city) which has a rich variety of flora and fauna. Here are some striking places in Brighton to pitch a tent.

Sheepcote Valley Caravan Club Site

Merely two miles away from Brighton on its east, Sheepcote Valley Caravan Club Site is nestled inside a fold of the beautiful South Downs National Park and only a short distance from the Marina. It offers an authentic jungle experience with the lush greenery and sweet chirps of birds. Moreover it is easily accessible because there are regular buses and the famous historic Volks Railway, which should not be missed.

Blackberry Wood Campsite

Located close to the charming Sussex countryside, Blackberry Wood Campsite is perched at the foot of the South Downs and is 8 miles from Brighton seafront. Tent sites here have woodland glades of their own with BBQ and seating facilities. An old London bus named “Holiday Bus” here has been transformed into accommodation which is a special attraction. A romantic Gypsy caravan, a retro caravan and plenty of static caravans are available for hire.

Farmhouse Caravan and Camping, Henfield

This is a family-run, small farm in a serene setting that will please you. It offers splendid views of the countryside across the South Downs. Children’s play area, shop and pub in the village and restaurants are all nearby, and the site is just perfect for strolling, biking and as a base for touring to East and West Sussex.

Spring Barn Farm, Lewes

Located on the outskirts of Lewes, at the foot of the South Downs, Spring Barn Farm is located on a public footpath and has numerous features to keep a family entertained. There are farm animals to see as well as pet, a giant maze, an assault course, children’s play area and pedal go karts.

The Barn Caravan Park

Barn Caravan Park has its own full-size football goal and climbing tower slide. This is a lush grassy site in Lancing, just a short distance from Brighton. Brick barbecues are here for you to cook up a feast and there is also an open-air cool shower.

While taking the pleasure of these lovely campsites, you can make your base at an utmost comfortable and warm guesthouse called Churchill Brighton which offers topnotch amenities and a homely atmosphere, in the heart of Brighton.
